History

In the early 1990's, we were visited by H.R.H Prince Charles and we are proud of a photograph taken at the time showing the Prince meeting Wendy Souter, the originator of the training system. Wendy was a fully trained senior legal secretary working in the profession during the eighties. She saw the need to create a training facility to enable secretaries from other market sectors to effect an easy transition into the legal area.

About Souters today

Souters is unique in its field. We have been successfully running Legal and Secretarial courses continuously since 1988 in the City of London.

We have our own purpose equipped premises in London EC4, where we provide  a networked IT and operating environment  enabling students to work as if they are already working inside a company or a law firm. For legal secretaries we have all the same specialised software and a vast library of precedent documents etc. which the top law firms use.

Whether you are a complete beginner or an old hand, Souters has the course to help you move forward.

The courses include practice in general and legal audio typing, file handling and document processing which are skills essential to you when entering  a normal secretarial job or the legal field, enabling you to feel at home in a real office.

On successful completion of each course examination you will receive a Souters Certificate. If you study further you will become entitled to the sought after Diplomas

Our secretaries are employed because of their professionalism and expertise. Many get highly paid jobs - even as they complete their course. Some legal secretaries become so stimulated they go on to study for Law Degrees or become Legal Executives, earning an even higher salary. We help to place students in legal jobs within the Courts, Legal Departments of commercial companies, Law Firms, Local Authorities etc.
