Beginner Secretary Courses
Course Objectives
To provide the student with secretarial beginner skills aimed at first junior job placement or as a foundation course for the Secretary/PA Diploma Programme.
Course Format
The course begins with a two-day induction class with a tutor. thereafter, supervision and assistance will be provided over a one month period on flexi-time to suit the student's schedule.
Students are welcome to attend the Centre during opening hours on a pre-booked basis. This can be done over a one month period to suit their needs/lifestyle schedule and to develop a sound skill base.
Background
Being a good typist with quality IT skills is a vital attribute of a successful secretary.
Students whom join this course with a low typing speed will find that they will have up to two months (from the final day of the course) to achieve a satisfactory speed of 25wpm (although it is possible to exceed this within the given time frame).
In the modern office secretaries and personal assistants are required to be competent in a range of Microsoft Office products.
As a result, students can benefit from the touch typing; audio typing and IT modules offered on this course, to build their skills and knowledge at foundation level.
Furthermore, course participation entitles the student to a £100.00 credit towards joining the Secretary/PA Course programmes offered here at Souters.

Course Outcome
The issuing of a Course completion certificate upon successful assessment.
